Hotel employee who released Jay Z attack video sacked
The hotel employee who recorded and released the video of Solang Knowles and Jay Z has been sacked.
The video was recorded in a hotel elevator when Solang, Jay Z and his wife Beyonce were leaving for the Met Gala night in New York on Monday nigh.
In the video, pop superstar Beyonce is seen watching as her sister attacks hip-hop superstar Jay Z.
The Standard Hotel in New York said that the employee, who was not named, was fired for “breaching the security polices of the hotel and recording the confidential CCTV video,” BuzzFeed reported
The video was first uploaded by celebrity website TMZ. Reports said they had paid about US$250,000 (S$313,000) for the video, but it couldn't be independently confirmed.
The Standard Hotel said after the video aired on Monday that it was “shocked and disappointed.” On Wednesday, the hotel added that it would turn over “all available information to criminal authorities.”
Neither Jay Z, Beyoncé, or Solange have publicly commented on the video.
