Kopitime: We should allow sharing of Budget perks

Singaporeans appreciate the government's effort to strengthen our social compact in the 2025 Budget.
In the Budget, there are a number of vouchers and other forms of perks to be given to the people as well as self-help groups and business establishments.
Among the inidividual recipients, there are those who need help more than others. Some of them may not need assistance from the Government but could do with a bit of help.
For those who can do without this extra help, there can be a way for them to share the perks with others - just like how we can share the CDC vouchers with those who need them more.
The SG60 vouchers are valued at $600 for those aged 21 to 59, and at $800 for those aged 60 and above.
If one in 10 Singaporeans are willing to donate these vouchers, we can easily get $70 million for redistribution among those who need the help.
The redistribution will augment the overall utility of the scheme and further enhance our social compact.
