Marina Square is one huge mall, and fittingly, it has a massive selection of eats. One can never go hungry there. So what should you sink your teeth into? Here are our recommendations

JUST FOR DESSERTS

Mouth Restaurant (#02-200, Tel: 6337-7446)

For the last 27 years, Mouth Restaurant has served Cantonese dishes and dim sum, so you know they are experts at what they do.

Its Liu Sha Bao (above, $5.80 for three pieces) is the perfect ending to a meal. It was voted Top 10 in Singapore by LifestyleAsia in 2014.

MORE MEATS

Dragon Bowl (#03-129A, Tel: 6858-1588)

The always reliable Dragon Bowl rules with its Cantonese cuisine, and the elegant space at the Marina Square outlet makes it ideal for a business meal.

One dish to order is the Stir-Fried Tenderloin Beef Cube with Black Pepper & Red Wine (above, from $24). The beef is tender, the sauce is the right balance of spicy and sweet, and the presentation will wow you.

The Burger Bar (#B1-03, Tel: 6635-6660)

The Mahalo (above, $10) is one of the most interesting burgers - with a juicy pork patty and a slice of pineapple to go with its Hawaiian name, which means thanks or gratitude. The sweet, savoury concept works.

Be prepared to be filled because the portion is a hefty one.

Yechun Xiao Jiang Nan (#02-181/182, Tel: 6333-4038)

The restaurant specialises in Jiang Nan cuisine, and its braised shredded chicken with Chinese ham and dried tofu (above, $22) is something to try.

The tofu is unique to the restaurant, with a soft but firm texture.

MUST HAVE PASTA

Bangkok Jam (#02-105B/105C, Tel: 6338-6632)

New on the Bangkok Jam menu is the Stir-Fried Kway Teow with Sriracha sauce (above, $11.50). This comes with either Cuttlefish & Pork or Chicken.

The spicy sauce and the crunchy chai po (or pickled turnip) combines to make a great one-dish meal.

redpan (#02-03/04, Tel: 6255-5850)

One must try is redpan's Prawn & Hae Bi Hiam pasta (above, $16). It's a clever combination of East (the house-made shrimp paste) and West (the tagliatelle).

redpan is a gem for interesting dishes. Also recommended are Pork Pops ($8) and Char Siew Chilli Fries ($7).

The East Bureau (#03-03, The Roof Garden Tel: 6837-0148)

The East Bureau could well be the most Instagram-ready restaurant at Marina Square. Luckily, the food doesn't suffer for the sake of beauty.

This is a great date place, and it'll be easy on your pocket too.

For $24, you'll get a three-course set dinner served with Asian Inspired Petite Trio of Starters and Duo Of Handcrafted Dessert.

Order the Oriental Aglio Olio with Seafood (above) - it's packed with flavour and choking with ingredients.

GET FISHY

TAKUJO Japanese Dining @ Emporium Shokuhin (#01-18, Tel: 6224-3433)

Don't miss out on the Tai Kabuto Kamameshi (or Madai claypot rice, above, $38).

This fish head claypot rice is good for four, and it's so simple yet tasty.

Niigata rice is used, with a sea bream fish head simmering above it till the natural juices from the fish seep in.

The result? A most satisfying bowl of rice.

Kai Garden (#03-128A/128B, Tel: 6250-4826)

There's nothing more luxurious than Kai Garden's Garoupa in Lobster Soup (above, $20 per 100 grams) .

Lobster is used instead of chicken to make the stock, which is used to poach the fish.

What you get is a delicately sweet soup with firm fish flesh.
