FOR THE CHOCOLATE LOVERS

THE PINE GARDEN

For the adventurous mother, The Pine Garden (Block 529 Ang Mo Kio Avenue 10, tel: 6457-6159) has a Sea Salt Caramel Garlic Chocolate Cake ($33 for 500 grams).

It could be a little daring for some, but the blend of flavours, topped with the aroma of the garlic, works.

THE COURTYARD

Chocoholic mums will love the chocolate buffet ($49) at The Courtyard (tel: 6877-8911), The Fullerton Hotel on May 6 and 7.

It starts at 8pm with more than 30 chocolate cakes, shooters and macarons.

The Hot Chocolate Connoisseurs' Bar offers bespoke drinks from a selection of eight different densities of chocolate.

CAT & THE FIDDLE

E-bakery Cat & The Fiddle (www.catandthefiddle.com) offers a special set - Fickle Feline 2.0 ($42.90) with 10 slices of different cheesecakes, including the chocolate-y Naughty and Nice.

At the website, you can also buy a special message stencil that can be used to create a more personalised cake.

FOR THE SEAFOOD LOVERS

OCEANS OF SEAFOOD

Oceans of Seafood (PasarBella @ The Grandstand, tel: 6466-1005) offers the Supreme Platter ($168) with oysters, prawns, mussels, Boston lobster and crab that chefs will prepare in Japanese or Western style.

The bonus?

For an order of the Supreme Platter, you'll get a Dr Franbel travel skincare set worth $80.

This promotion runs in May.

BARNACLES BY THE SEA

On May 8, Shangri-La's Rasa Sentosa Resort & Spa has a seafood-filled brunch at Barnacles by the Sea (tel: 6371-1966).

Priced at $158 (a child five years and below dines free with a paying adult), the must-try on the spread includes Fine de Claire and Prat Au Coum oysters from France, lobsters, Alaskan crabs and grilled king prawns.

GATTOPARDO RISTORANTE DI MARE

On May 8, Italian-style seafood is what's on offer during Mama's Brunch Day Out ($78) at Gattopardo Ristorante di Mare (34 Tras Street, tel: 6338-5498).

The star is a 6kg octopus that will be blanched and sliced table side. Another seafood highlight is the restaurant's signature dish Salt Baked Sea Bass.

BUFFETS:

PRINCESS TERRACE

From May 6 to 8, Princess Terrace (Copthorne King's Hotel, tel: 6318-3168) has the popular Penang food spread. And the restaurant will also whip up a special dish called lotus spare rib.

Mothers will also get a bottle of kaya (limited to one bottle per table).

ASH & ELM

Ash & Elm (InterContinental Singapore, tel: 6825-1008) does meat very well, so the Mother's Day brunch on May 8 should be perfect for the meat-loving mum.

Another highlight is the Charcuterie & Cheese Room.

Brunch is from $98.

THE DINING ROOM

Combine the love for seafood and the love for buffets at the Mother's Day buffet lunch ($78) at The Dining Room (Sheraton Towers Singapore, tel: 6839-5621). Besides seafood, you'll get beef stroganoff, grilled teriyaki pork cheek and a spread of sweets like durian puffs and pandan kaya cakes.
