McDonald's, Jumbo Seafood launch Chilli Crab Sauce Burger for SG60
A prawn patty topped with a fluffy scrambled egg and lathered with chilli crab sauce.
Move over, curry sauce, there is a new flavour coming to your nearest McDonald's outlet from July 10.
The fast food chain is partnering local seafood brand Jumbo Seafood to introduce the Chilli Crab Sauce Burger, in celebration of National Day.
Be prepared to shell out at least $8.95 for an Extra Value Meal for the prawn version, which comes with one or two patties, and the chicken version.
Lathered in chilli crab sauce that McDonald's promises would capture Jumbo's signature savoury, sweet and tangy notes, the patty or patties will be paired with lettuce and scrambled eggs, and pinched between two brioche buns.
The chilli crab sauce will also be available as a dip, for $1.
"We're thrilled to collaborate with Jumbo Seafood to bring a truly local flavour to our customers this year," said McDonald's Singapore senior director of marketing and digital customer experience Drina Chee.
"Our teams worked closely to develop a chilli crab-inspired sauce that delivers everything we love in this quintessential dish of Singapore, reimagined as not just one, but two uniquely McDonald's burgers."
Jumbo Group's executive chairman and group chief executive Ang Kiam Meng said: "Chilli Crab holds a special place in every Singaporean's heart, and it's exciting to see this iconic dish reimagined so creatively.
"While rooted in our rich heritage, we're always looking to innovate, and this partnership with McDonald's is a fantastic way to showcase our signature chilli crab sauce in a fresh, bold way."
Also in McDonald's National Day line-up are the brand new Kampung Drumlets, Iced Dinosaur, Pulut Hitam Pie, and Chendol Soft Serve.
All the new menu items will be available from 11am onwards on July 10, except the Chendol Soft Serve, which will be available all day at the chain's dessert kiosks, participating outlets and food delivery platforms.
