The term smelfie isn't new. It has been used for selfies taken with perfume bottles and those taken while having a dump. It's also a term for smirking selfies.
But it became popular for its most recent definition thanks to Australian comedian Adam Hills.
Is it the amalgamation of the words smelly and selfie? We don't know, but it does seem highly likely.
Mr Hill's tweet started off a wave of smelfie posts on Twitter.
Mr Hill said in a later tweet that he wanted to encourage fathers to change diapers.
