COMMENTARY
They all look the same
Here we go again.
I'm not delusional, so I won't deny that I've had problems differentiating one band member from another.
Yes, they all sport outrageous hair colours. Yes, most of them have double eyelids and straight noses and chiselled jawlines. It's all part of the package.
But they don't look the same. There are very subtle differences - if you look closely. Very closely. All right, get a microscope.
They all go for plastic surgery
This is an absurd generalisation.
I can name at least 10 idols who haven't gone under the knife including EXO's D.O., 2PM's Nichkhun and Girls' Generation's Yoona.
Need I say more? (I can also name more than 20 who are plastic, but what does that matter.)
They have no talent
No, no, no.
You've got it all wrong. These guys have talent - they sing and dance better than me in the shower.
Now before you K-pop fans start stalking me and stealing my boxers, let me just tell you something: I don't wear boxers.
They have it easy
Well, excuse you.
Most of them, if not all, begin training at a young age, without knowing when or if they will even debut. Sometimes they train for up to seven years. That's resilience right there.
You think you have it hard? Then try reasoning with stalker fans.
Their music is shallow
K-pop songs are not all sunshine and rainbows. There are meaningful lyrics, too.
Come here and I'll blast you some deep, magical music.
We all need lyrics about unrequited love and tunes with sophisticated piano melodies, songs that will make us bawl our eyes out.
But if you are not convinced...to each his own, I guess.
