MUS 2018 finalists enjoy body and beauty treatments at Beaute Hub
MUS finalists try beauty and nail treatments at Beaute Hub
Miss Universe Singapore (MUS) 2018 finalist Jaslyn Tan was crowned Miss Singapore Grand International in 2014 and was first runner-up at Miss Teochew last year, but she has never gone for a beauty treatment as "technologically advanced" as the ones offered at Beaute Hub, the official wellness partner for MUS.
Last week, some of the top 15 MUS finalists were at the local spa and skincare chain's outlet at Suntec City to get a 10-minute trial of beauty treatments that target the neck, face and tummy area.
Miss Tan, a 26-year-old realtor who tried the Channelled Optimal RF Energy (Core) treatment, told The New Paper: "The process felt very comfortable. It was warm and I felt as though there were (gentle) weights pressing on my tummy. It is supposed to stimulate collagen and tighten and shape the waist."
Another finalist who tried out the treatment was Miss Tiong Jia En, but she focused on her neck area.
The 23-year-old rhythm cycling instructor said: "The neck is one part that most people neglect, and as you age, it is one prominent area where signs of ageing can be visible.
"The 10-minute treatment felt warm and I actually see a slight lifting effect. In the long run, I think frequent sessions will definitely help in reducing fine lines and wrinkles."
For Miss Renee Kee, 25, it was her first time doing a beauty treatment.
The flight attendant, who tried a newly-introduced fat elimination therapy called the Alliance Body treatment, said: "I thought it would just be a rub-on but it was actually pretty intense. I felt some tightness (around) my stomach, though there is no obvious difference right away. (But) I think with subsequent treatments, you can definitely see or feel some tightness in problem areas."
At Beaute Nails, Beaute Hub's manicure and pedicure spa spin-off, located in the same unit, Miss Chloe Padirac, 26, pampered herself with a manicure session to get her nails pageant-ready.
The reiki practitioner decided to go for "something as adventurous as (her) free-spirited and adventurous personality" and chose a silver-chromed finish.
"This is the first time I'm trying a chrome manicure and I love it because it brings out the diva in me. I picked this colour to best suit my personality and I wanted to try out something new," she said.
Miss Sushil Como usually settles for a "safe" colour - red - when she visits nail parlours.
But at Beaute Nails, she ventured out of her comfort zone, opting for a navy and silver-chromed manicure.
The 25-year-old financial consultant said: "I go for manicures at least once a month. At times, it will be once every two months if I go for a gel manicure which typically lasts longer. Because I go quite often, my nails tend to get brittle.
"Thankfully, the manicure and pedicure services at Beaute Nails use non-toxic polishes to strengthen nails and prevent breakage."
Beaute Hub's CEO Albert Lam, 50, told TNP: "Beaute Hub celebrates beautiful women on both the outside and inside.
"In line with this year's theme, Beauty of Empowerment, I want to remind the girls that being confidently beautiful is what sets you apart from others.
"Because when you are confident in your own skin and embrace who you are, only then people will remember you."
