RWS debuts all-suite resort The Laurus; nightly rates start at $1,200
From May, visitors to integrated resort Resorts World Sentosa (RWS) can book stays at The Laurus - Singapore's first The Luxury Collection-branded resort. It is expected to open in the third quarter of 2025.
The Luxury Collection is a brand under hospitality conglomerate Marriott International, and sits among the ranks of other luxury brands in its portfolio like The Ritz-Carlton, St Regis and JW Marriott.
The brand's ethos is rooted in exceptional hospitality, historical significance and an immersive cultural experience.
Surrounded by lush greenery, The Laurus will house 183 suites, with its deluxe and premier suites starting at 72 sq m in size and costing from $1,200++ a night.
Bangkok-based interior design firm P49 Deesign - which has also worked on properties such as JW Marriott Hangzhou, W Hotel Samui and Six Senses Laamu in Maldives - was engaged to create an atmosphere of timeless elegance throughout the resort.
The Laurus' rooms will showcase refined touches, from luxurious bedding to curated furnishings to monochromatic accents.

The five-storey hotel and its grounds will also include courtyard spaces, a function room, an outdoor swimming pool, a spa and a new all-day dining concept restaurant.
Mr Tan Hee Teck, chief executive of RWS, says: "The Laurus, a Luxury Collection resort, embodies the very essence of our ongoing pivot to offer curated destination experiences as part of RWS' transformational expansion plans."
In November 2024, Genting Singapore embarked on a $6.8 billion project to expand and refresh RWS' offerings amid a rise in global competition for tourism, starting with new non-gaming attractions.
The project has seen the opening of interactive art experience Harry Potter: Visions Of Magic on Nov 22, 2024, and the Minion Land attraction in Universal Studios Singapore on Feb 14.
The Singapore Oceanarium, which will replace the S.E.A. Aquarium and is three times larger, is expected to open in the first half of 2025.

Slated for completion by 2030, a new waterfront lifestyle complex is also currently under construction at RWS.
The development will include two more luxury hotels with a total of 700 rooms, which will be added to the current six hotels at RWS - Crockfords Tower, Equarius Hotel, Equarius Villas, Hotel Michael, Hotel Ora and The Laurus, which replaces Hard Rock Hotel.
It will also feature an 88m-tall light sculpture; an elevated walking trail with scenic views of the Sentosa landscape and the Greater Southern Waterfront; and a promenade with retail, dining and entertainment options.
