Seacrest sings off-key on American Idol stage
US Idol host Ryan Seacrest makes dismal singing debut with Richard Marx at the show's 13th season finale
He should definitely stick to hosting the American Idol show and keep his day job as a radio personality.
What Ryan Seacrest shouldn't do is to consider being a music artist.
The 39-year-old presenter opted to make his very off-pitch debut on the Fox singing competition in a duet with his favourite 80s pop-rock singer-songwriter Richard Marx.
Seacrest tweeted to his 12.6 million followers: "I've never been nervous on the idol stage before...tonight it's very different."
Among the 7,000 screaming fans at the live show at the Nokia Theatre in L.A. were Seacrest's parents Connie and Gary as well as his sister Meredith.
Prior to introducing her son, Connie told former judge Randy Jackson: "It took a lot of convincing to get him to agree to sing a song from (the) very first concert (he attended) in Atlanta that featured Richard Marx.
"And I remember driving him to the Fox Theatre (that day)."
Kudos on the very brave attempt Ryan, but maybe you should stop singing the moment you leave the shower?
