PARIS

The City of Love has long been regarded as the fashion capital of the world, from the exclusive runways of the ongoing Paris Fashion Week to the designer stores along the stunning Champs-Elysees.

However, there is more to Paris than expensive labels. Venture to one of its pop-up fashion markets to get sartorial advice from some of the chicest Parisians.

Where to stay: La Clef Louvre is across the Comedie-Francaise theatre and just a short walk from the Louvre Museum and Jardin des Tuileries, or the Tuileries Gardens.

Paris is also great for sightseeing, art museums and delicious food.

NEW YORK CITY

Whether you are on the hunt for a vintage treasure or avant-garde designer merchandise, the Big Apple is the place to be. Fashion fanatics flock to NYC every February and September for fashion week.

Aside from the invite-only catwalks, the city is home to some of the world's most famous and largest department stores: Bloomingdales, Macy's, Barneys and Saks.

For something a little different, take a stroll along the Lower East Side (previously dubbed the bargain district) and stop by vintage stores and flea markets.

Nolita is the place to see and to be seen for high fashion, or stop by the open-air GreenFlea Market for a vintage gem.

Where to stay: Located within walking distance from the iconic Soho, Greenwich Village and Union Square neighbourhoods are the trendy East Village Apartments. After hitting the shops, book tickets to the theatre, go sightseeing or visit a museum.

MILAN

If there is one city worthy of the fashion capital crown, it is Milan, home to the recently concluded Milan Fashion Week and the centre of Italian and international fashion.

The Quadrilatero d'Oro (also known as the Golden Rectangle) is home to some of the world's most luxurious boutiques. Walk along one of the most expensive and prestigious streets in the world, Via Monte Napoleone, or opt for the bustling trade fair of Milano Unica.
