Hotel feasts this festive season
Why cook when you can enjoy a smorgasbord at hotels?
This year, Christmas kicks off a long weekend, so you might be looking for places to gather with friends.
Luckily for us, the hotels are ready for your festive dining.
PARKROYAL ON BEACH ROAD
At Plaza Brasserie (Tel: 6505-5710), Christmas will be on the buffet line with live stations of roasted meats and festive turkeys, accompanied by dishes such as sauteed clams, wok-fried tiger prawns and steamed Hainanese chicken.
This is available till Jan 1, from $48 for lunch and from $62 for dinner.
SWISSOTEL MERCHANT COURT
Although Ellenborough Market Cafe (Tel: 6239-1847/48) is booked out over Christmas Eve and Christmas, its festive buffet spread - which features the signature item Singapore Laksa Tom Turkey - is available till Dec 31.
This year, there's another item to look forward to - the Homemade Sambal Tom Turkey.
And when you're done with turkeys, there is always the regular spread of seafood and Peranakan dishes.
Lunch is from $48 and dinner is at $68.
MARINA MANDARIN
This month, Aquamarine (Tel: 6845-1111) will serve its special Roasted Turkey with Orange and Cinnamon on its buffet line, but look out for the Pan-Seared Hokkaido Scallops with Cauliflower Espuma, one of the better dishes on the line.
And since Aquamarine is a halal restaurant, it is also a good place for multiracial groups.
It's only for lunch on Christmas Eve and Christmas, from $68. On other days, it's only available for dinner, from $70.
