The New Paper New Face 2015 finalists were at ION Orchard and VivoCity last Saturday, putting their best foot forward while introducing a new range of Levi's jeans to shoppers.

But considering that those feet were shod in five-inch New Look heels, it was no mean feat.

Jessica Goh, 15, a student from CHIJ St. Theresa's Convent, was spotted with plasters at the back of her heels.

She said: "It was a good experience because we got to walk around and meet people.

"Even if our feet hurt, we didn't give up. We stayed happy because everyone else was happy, too."

Apart from the high heels, some of the finalists had to deal with butterflies in their stomachs.

Executive assistant Niqi Chass, 23, said: "I was scared at first, but I told myself to go for it and be as approachable as possible."

In the end, the finalists said it was worth the effort because of the friendly people they met.

Temasek Polytechnic student Tanisha Lissa Khan, 17, said: "What drove me to stay cheerful was the people who spoke to me and said 'thank you'."

Miss Stefanie Yeo, 19, a student from Ngee Ann Polytechnic who was shopping at ION Orchard, said the finalists impressed her.

She said: "I thought the girls were really pretty on Facebook.

"In real life, they were not only pretty but they were very graceful and carried themselves well."

At the event, shoppers were rewarded with a special treat for trying on the new women's denim collection designed specifically for the Asian woman.

Styles include the 710 Super Skinny, 711 Skinny, 712 Slim, 714 Straight, 721 High Rise Skinny, with prices starting from $79.90.

Levi's spokesman Wilbie Poh, 39, said: "The girls were highly enthusiastic. But more than their grace, energy and beauty, their personalities shone through."
