Fancy pulling off a majestic save as Hope Solo? Or have you always wanted to step into the boots of Abby Wambach and score amazing goals?

Well then you're in luck.

This year, Electronic Arts (EA) Sports will be adding more than just improved graphics and ball physics to its latest FIFA video game.

Fans of the series will get to take control of female players for the very first time in the upcoming FIFA 16.

On Thursday (May 28), Electronic Arts Inc announced that FIFA 16, which will be released on September 25, will feature a total of 12 Women's National Teams from Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, England, France, Germany, Italy, Mexico, Spain, Sweden, and the US.

“Bringing some of the best women’s players and teams in the world to our franchise is a massive event for EA SPORTS, and we are equally excited about bringing millions of fans a new way to play,” David Rutter, VP and GM, EA Sports FIFA said about the decision to include female footballers in FIFA 16.

To ensure that players, like their male counterparts, look as realistic as possible, the development team tapped into motion capture technology to recreate their movements in the game.
