Which Singapore actors could be in Game of Thrones? Series star Jessica Henwick decides

Who would be cast as Jon Snow if Game of Thrones were a Singaporean production?

Game of Thrones star Jessica Henwick, who plays Nymeria Sand in the fifth season, played casting director when she visited Singapore last week.

Henwick, whose mother is Chinese-Singaporean and dad is British, was in town to promote the hit series' season finale that aired on Monday morning (June 15) on HBO.

In the video below, Henwick imagines who could possibly be Daenerys Targaryen or super-villain Ramsay Bolton if they were played by Singaporeans.

She met The New Paper on Friday - and had tried most of her favourite Singaporean dishes by then, including sambal stingray.

But don't ask her what her favourite Singapore dishes are - she's answered enough questions about that since she's appeared on the show.

The 22-year-old told this reporter: "I hope you are not going to ask me what my favourite food is, and what my childhood memories are."

Henwick however did admit that she too would have been curious as a fan if a half-Singaporean was on a popular TV show.

Fortunately, The New Paper had something different planned for the British star.

We gave her a list of Singapore personalities including Sea Games champion Joseph Schooling, actors Adrian Pang and Pierre Png among many others.

She was then asked to recast the series using these personalities.

Gossip

If you think she knows nothing about these Singaporean celebs, you would be gravely mistaken.

The actress is clearly familiar with the Singapore entertainment scene.

She excitedly talked about the Bobby Tonelli-Joanne Peh breakup and Peh's subsequent marriage to fellow actor Qi Yuwu.

"Do you have any more gossip?" she asked me.

So who would play the gorgeous but strong Daenerys Targaryen? Watch the video above to find out.

If you have yet to catch up on this exciting season, binge-viewers have the option to watch the full season of Game of Thrones back to back from now till the end of September on HBO On Demand (StarHub TV Ch 602).
