Harrison Ford's surprise comic-con appearance, plus The Force Awakens behind-the-scenes footage
Cheers erupted when Harrison Ford made a surprise appearance at the Star Wars: The Force Awakens panel at San Diego Comic-Con on Friday (July 10).
This was the 72-year-old's first public appearance since he crashed his vintage small plane in March this year.
While he reportedly suffered from multiple gashes to his head during the crash, he seemed to be in the pink of health as he bounded across the stage to join the panel.
On stage with Ford were his original Star Wars co-stars Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher, or Luke Skywalker and Princess Leia, if you prefer.
According to Buzzfeed, the introduction had come via a question from the moderator of the panel to director JJ Abrams about Ford's condition.
Abrams replied: “Well, why don’t we find out? Ladies and gentlemen, this is Harrison Ford!”
The man who famously played Han Solo then bounded across the stage before embracing Hamill and Fisher.
During the panel, Ford said he had never expected Star Wars to make a return, nor did he expect that he would play a part in it if it did.
"“I was very gratified when I read the script, because I read something that I thought was really remarkable and really well-written, with some really intriguing developments," he said.
After the panel, Ford made another appearance at the free outdoor concert for Star Wars fans.
He hammed it up by using a lightsaber as a walking stick.
We're sure everyone in the the entire galaxy, whether near or far, far away, was glad that to see Ford is well.
