Star Wars child actor arrested for reckless driving
A former Star Wars child actor came into contact with a very different kind of force when he was found speeding in South Carolina, US.
Jake Lloyd, 26, who portrayed a younger version of Anakin Skywalker in Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace (1999), had been driving at 160 km/h and refused to stop for police officers.
Lloyd then led officers on a high-speed chase which lasted 40 km.
He didn't stop when the road reached a dead end and continued speeding into a wooded area. The chase ended after his vehicle hit several small trees and was brought to a stop.
When police officers arrested him, Lloyd told them that his name was Jake Broadbent.
According to The Guardian, his details matched those of the Star Wars actor's listed on IMDB.
He was charged with failing to comply with police officers and for driving recklessly.
