The Piano Guys' day out at Botanic Gardens
These YouTube stars never thought they would become famous.
The Piano Guys were just regular fortysomething dads when they took the world by storm in 2010 with their unique renditions of contemporary and classical tunes.
The group's official channel currently has more than three million subscribers. Songs that they have covered include Let It Go from Frozen and Christina Perri's A Thousand Years.
"It's actually something we never would've expected. We were just having fun and it took off," John Schmidt, the quartet's pianist, said of the group's success.
Schmidt, Steve Sharp Nelson, Paul Anderson and Al van der Beek were in Singapore for a two-night concert on April 13 and 14.
Before departing for Hong Kong, the group stopped by the Singapore Botanic Gardens to enjoy nature, as well as to take a couple of pictures with a few foreign workers.
The Piano Guys spoke to The New Paper's M in an interview about the inspiration behind their music and plans they have for the future.
