Rihanna makes fun of fan wearing "bat" prom dress

A fan is upset that Rihanna has joined in the ongoing cyber-bullying surrounding her prom dress.

Fox News reports that 16-year-old Alexis Carter wore a RiRi-inspired batwing dress to her prom, posted a picture of the look online, and then quickly saw it go viral - in a bad way.

On Twitter, the hashtag #PromBat began to trend, some with altered photos mocking the outfit.

But it was her own idol's tweets that caught Carter by surprise.

Rihanna posted a picture of her outfit from 2010 with the caption IG ("Instagram") and Carter in her outfit, with the caption "Real Life", and then added a sad face emoticon to her tweet.

The Barbadian pop star then followed up with another photo collage, with Carter in her outfit on the left, and the bat-like logo of hip-hop group Wu-Tang Clan. The caption: "She gets it".

Needless to say, Carter was upset. "I was very offended," she said. "Why throw shade on it when you had on the exact same thing. The poses was different but the outfit wasn't." (sic)

The look, put together for Carter by a family friend, was inspired by a couture dress from French designer Alexandre Vauthier Rihanna wore to the the Echo Awards in 2010 (below).

Carter says she has thrown away Rihanna's CDs.

"She don't love her fans like she says she does (sic)," she said.

No word on Rihanna yet on this latest scandal, which comes in the wake of her US$25,000 donation to the LAPD after dropping and cracking their Commission President's phone at a basketball game.
