107 suspected drug offenders arrested in islandwide operation
The Central Narcotics Bureau nabbed 107 suspected drug offenders during an islandwide operation this week.
The operation started on Monday (Jan 5) and ended on Friday morning (Jan 9), stated a CNB press release.
CNB officers and police were deployed to Ang Mo Kio, Bukit Batok, Bukit Panjang, Geylang, Jalan Bukit Merah, Jurong, Marsiling, Telok Blangah, Tiong Bahru, Woodlands and Yishun.
They seized 102g of heroin, 50g of Ice, 6g of ketamine and 32 Erimin-5 tablets.
Investigations against all suspects are ongoing.
Arrested at Yishun void deck
One of the suspects, a 35-year-old man, was arrested at the void deck of a HDB block at Yishun Street 11 on Tuesday (Jan 6).
Officers raided the man's hideout, a flat unit at the same block, after finding a small packet of Ice in his possession.
A 40-year-old man and a 31-year-old woman, both Singaporeans, were arrested in the flat.
Officers found about 75g of heroin and a small amount of Ice on the man, and a small amount of heroin in his car.
There was also a small amount of Ice and drug paraphernalia in the flat.
Both men are being investigated for drug trafficking.
If found guilty, they can be jailed for at least five years and caned at least five times.
