17 women arrested from entertainment outlet near Newton
The police have arrested 17 women, aged between 20 and 36, in an operation at a public entertainment outlet in the vicinity of Newton Road.
The six-hour operation was carried out by Tanglin Police Division, the police said in a statement.
The women were arrested for unlawful employment offences, as well as offences under the Miscellaneous Offences Act, Chapter 184.
The operation is part of ongoing police enforcement efforts to deter and detect criminal activities at entertainment outlets, and serves as a warning that those who engage in illicit activities will be dealt with in accordance to the law, the statement said.
Investigations against the suspects are ongoing.
