2 men throw punches at each other in Hougang Mall as onlookers gawk
Two men, aged 35 and 64, were arrested after an altercation in Hougang Mall at 1.20pm on April 25.
In a video shared on Facebook, the two men can be seen throwing punches at each other at the foot of an escalator that had been switched off after another went under maintenance.
Onlookers stood on the stationary escalator and gawked, while other bystanders gave the fighting men a wide berth.
The escalator had been switched off as the one next to it was undergoing maintenance.
In another video, the fight escalated as they went head-to-head on the escalator.
A commenter quipped that Hougang has been very "happening" lately, following news of a naked man running around and slashing a father, and a one-on-one brawl at a coffee shop.
Another netizen referenced PAP candidate Marshall Lim's comments about Hougang residents being "fighters".

Shin Min Daily News reported that the men in pink and grey had accidentally bumped into each other on the escalator, resulting in the conflict.
A female employee at a nearby store, who wished to remain anonymous, said the man in pink was a food delivery rider on his way to a restaurant to pick up an order.
During the fight, the man in grey shouted: "Why did you push me?"
He was then punched in the face, causing his eyes to become red and swollen.
"The two sides fought for several minutes before leaving. Several police officers were seen rushing to the scene."
The 64-year-old man was taken to Sengkang General Hospital, conscious, while the 35-year-old, although injured, refused to be taken to hospital.
