43-year-old drunk driver panics, accelerates and crashes into police car
A 43-year-old male driver parked in the middle of the road in the wee hours, prompting the police to question him.
In a panic, he stepped on the accelerator, crashed into the police car in front, and was arrested on the spot for drink driving.
The accident occurred at around 4.05am on May 7 on Buyong Road towards Kramat Lane in Orchard.
Shin Min Daily News reported that the black car involved in the accident had stopped diagonally in the middle lane, and the front of the vehicle had hit the rear of the police car.
The police later blocked three lanes, and other vehicles were directed to take a detour.

Mr Hu, 55, told the Chinese daily that he drove past the scene at around 5am.
He saw five police cars and two traffic police motorcycles, and initially thought it was a spot check.
"I later found out that a car had collided with a police car," he said.
"The car was stopped in the middle of the road, but I couldn't see the driver, and I didn't see an ambulance at the scene."
It was reported that the police were patrolling the area when they found a car parked in the middle of the road.
The police confirmed the accident, and no injuries were reported.
A 43-year-old male driver was arrested for drink driving.
Police investigation is ongoing.
