'All of you are heroes!': TikToker spends eight hours rescuing kitten trapped in drain

A TikToker's late-night rescue mission to save a kitten trapped in a drain has melted hearts online.

In her video, TikTok user @thespicyducky documented her hours-long effort to save a black kitten hiding in a drain. The timestamp showed that she began her search at about 5.30pm.

Together with two friends, she spent the next few hours combing the area before finally locating the kitten around 9.00pm.

The trio took turns climbing into the drain with flashlights, but the frightened feline refused to come out.

All-night effort

The rescue took so long that thespicyducky even returned home midway to grab an energy drink before rejoining her friends at the scene.

It was only after 2.00am that they finally managed to coax the kitten out - with the help of a bucket of water. The TikToker then brought the kitten home, naming it Pickle.

She also revealed that Pickle's two siblings had already been rescued earlier and are now cared for by the couple who helped with the search for Pickle.

Since rescuing Pickle, thespicyducky has also created an Instagram account, @littlespicypickle, to share more updates on how the newly rescued kitten is adapting to domestic life.

'Heroes with the biggest hearts'

In a follow-up comment, thespicyducky confirmed that the rescue began on Oct 26 and stretched into the wee hours of Oct 27.

Others hailed the trio as "heroes" with "the biggest hearts" for refusing to give up the search in spite of how long it took.

As of press time, the video has garnered over 2,200 likes and 100 comments.
