Angry buffalo kills rubber trapper
She was tapping rubber in an estate in Segamat, Johor, when tragedy struck.
Ms Rosnani Wahid, 46, a mother of five, was killed by an enraged female buffalo on Friday morning, the New Straits Times reported.
She suffered serious head and body injuries and died on the spot.
The buffalo’s rope had apparently been trapped among some tree roots for over an hour, causing the animal to struggle to free itself.
Ms Rosnani, who was tapping rubber nearby, tried to chase away the animal when the buffalo broke free, but it rammed its head into her.
It continued to attack her even after she fell.
Several villagers tried to help, but it became aggressive and tried to attack them as well.
After it was calmed down, the villagers retrieved the victim and secured the animal.
But it was too late by then.
