After a 20-year run, Carl's Jr's first outlet in Singapore, located at Marina Square, will be closing on April 13, with three outlets remaining in Singapore.

The three remaining outlets in Singapore are located at The Star Vista, SingPost Centre, and King Albert Park.

This marks the fourth closure since the 15-year outlet in VivoCity shuttered in September 2021.

The Funan outlet closed nearly a year later in August 2022, and the Jurong Point outlet recently ceased operations in September 2024.

"It's been an amazing ride, and we've loved serving you here!"

Carl's Jr was founded in the US 83 years ago and expanded into Singapore in 2005 with its first outlet at Marina Square.

A blog post from 2005 describes the opening of the American chain in Singapore: "It's surprisingly true to the real thing back home (West Coast), including the free refills (rare in Singapore) as well as the little number tags."

Following the news of the closure, fans of the fast-food restaurant urged the company to consider relocating to other areas with lower rent.

"Please consider relocating to areas where the rentals are much lower than Marina Square, which is centrally located," a netizen wrote.
