Blond hair, blue-eyed man has surgery to look Korean
A blond hair, blue-eyed Brazilian man has gone under the knife to look Korean.
Mr Xiahn Nishi, who is of German descent and was previously known as Max, has long been interested in Korean popular culture, reported Mail Online.
But it was during a year-long exchange programme at Busan’s Dongseo University that the 25-year-old decided to undergo plastic surgery.
He underwent 10 procedures on his eyes and other less-invasive procedures. It cost him around US$3,100 (S$3,900), reported The Korea Herald.
The surgery involved closing up the inner corners of his eyes. The skin around his eyes was also injected with hyaluronic acid.
“It was the first time this procedure was done,” The Sydney Morning Herald reported him as saying.
He wears contact lenses to change his eye colour and dyes his hair dark brown.
South China Morning Post quoted him as saying on his Facebook: "Regardless of religion that the person is (sic), whether or not you believe in past lives, you have only this life, you have to be who you want to be."
