An eight-year-old boy died after he was thrown out from his mother's car while on his way to school on Wednesday (Aug 13).

Muhammad Ilham Zaki, a pupil of SK Megat Aris in Bagan Tiang in Parit Buntar, Perak, died on the spot after his mother's car landed on him in the 7am incident, reported The New Straits Times.

A police spokesman told NST that the car driven by Muhammad Ilham's mother had first crashed into an electric pole on the side of the road.

The crash threw the boy out through the windscreen.

The car then turned sideways and landed on the boy.
