Bus captain intervenes as man hurls vulgarities, hits face of teen on bus
"I'm 18. You're 80 years old," says the teen in a TikTok clip
Two commuters got into an argument on the back of a bus after one of them purportedly became upset by the way the other placed his bag on the seat.
Stomper Nightdash posted a profanity-filled TikTok video of the incident, which took place on a Tower Transit bus service 855 on Aug 11.
"The uncle sat there first, followed by the teenager," recounted the Stomper.
"The teenager put his bag in between them, but it touched the uncle who had his legs wide open. The uncle was unhappy and so scolded the teenager."
In the video, the uncle was relatively calm at first as he spoke to the bespectacled teen. It was only after the teen used the F-word that the older man got triggered and yelled Hokkien vulgarities at the teen.
The younger man coolly responded in Hokkien: "I'm 18. You're 80 years old."
This angered the uncle even more and he replied with more vulgarities.
Another voice, possibly from the bus captain, can be heard intervening. The uncle complained to the bus captain in English that the teen was "talking non-stop".
The voice suggested that they change seats, but both of them refused to be the one to move. The uncle said that he sat there first and glared at the teen who reiterated calmly in Hokkien that he was 18 and taunted the uncle.
The uncle then appeared to hit the teen's cheek with his thumb. The teen dared the uncle to hit him again, but the uncle just unleashed more vulgarities.

The bus captain can eventually be seen coming to the back of the bus and got the teen to agree to leave his seat. The driver then tapped on the uncle to try and calm him down.
The Stomper praised the way the dispute was handled.
"The bus driver de-escalated the situation by moving them apart," said the Stomper.
But even as the teen got up to change seats, he and the uncle got into it one more time.
