Certis disciplines officer who committed same violation that he fined motorcyclist for
Stomper XJ was fined $35 for parking his motorcycle in a reserved lot in Yishun.
Certis has taken disciplinary action against an enforcement officer for the same parking violation that he was giving a motorcyclist summons for.
Stomper XJ was fined $35 for parking his motorcycle in a reserved lot in Yishun on Sept 16 at 7.55pm.
He noticed that the Certis officer also parked his motorcycle in a reserved lot.
"I want to raise an issue about Certis," said the Stomper.
"How can they happily park in a reserved slot and fine people for parking in the same reserved slot as them?
"This does not make sense and deserves an explanation from Certis."
"I got the summons when the Certis officer was there and I asked him this question. He did not answer and happily went around to fine all the vehicles there."
In response to a Stomp query, a Certis spokesperson said: "Certis enforces a zero-tolerance policy on parking violations.
"Our enforcement officers and vehicles are not exempt from parking regulations, and are required to comply with the same rules as the public.
"In this case, disciplinary action has been taken against the officer, and we have also reminded all enforcement personnel to abide by parking rules while carrying out their duties.
"We remain committed to upholding integrity and fairness in all enforcement operations."
