Check out endangered sawfish at S.E.A. Aquarium during Halloween period
October is always an exciting month, thanks to Halloween. You can count on activities like Sentosa Spooktacular and Halloween Horror Nights to get your heart thumping.
But if you're looking for a family activity that's a little less scary, you may want to visit the S.E.A. Aquarium next month.
The aquarium is rolling out a special Halloween event called SEAA Wonders: Spooky Seas, and one marine creature who will be in the spotlight is the Largetooth Sawfish (Pristis pristis).
The fish is a critically endangered species and faces threats from the commercial trade of its skin, fins, meat and unique saw-shaped rostrum, a press release from Resorts World Sentosa said.
The marine park's latest resident arrived from Reef HQ Aquarium in Townsville, Queensland, where it had previously stayed for a decade.
Ms Mathilde Richer de Forges, senior conservation manager at the S.E.A. Aquarium, said: "Reef HQ Aquarium was looking to re-house their resident sawfish due to size limitations, and we are privileged to be able to assist."
S.E.A. Aquarium will be decorated in accordance with the theme.
That means divers in skeleton suits, pumpkins lying under the sea and special sea characters like the Mermaid Witch, Sea Jelly Spirit and Sea Horse Dracula making an appearance.
While it doesn't sound like the usual scarefest, it does seem like something the whole family will enjoy.
