Chopped-up baby found at JB sewage plant
It was a grisly find: Workers cleaning a waste trap in a Johor Baru sewage plant found what they thought were pieces of meat stuck to it.
They were shocked when the parts turned out to be an infant - chopped up into 15 parts.
The baby, whose gender has yet to be determined, was missing the head and abdomen.
Workers immediately informed their supervisor about the find on Sunday afternoon and he then called the police.
Factory worker Ismail Daud who lives in the area was shocked to hear that body parts had been found.
"Only a monster will do this"
He said this is the second time such an incident has happened. A newborn baby was found abandoned near a dump site last year.
Housewife Khairul Husna Abdul Halim, 36, was horrified by the discovery.
She said:
"I am angry over what has happened to this infant. Only a monster will do something like this."
The police said that the parts have been sent to the Sultanah Aminah Hospital for a post-mortem.
Johor Baru (North) OCPD Asst Comm Mohd Khamsani Abdul Rahman said: "We will be knocking on each door (at the connected public housing area) to find who is responsible".
The area has 1,288 units.
