Cops nab 5 over Bukit Bintang grenade blast
Five men have been arrested in connection with the pre-dawn grenade attack in Bukit Bintang, Kuala Lumpur, last week.
The blast outside Cherry Blossom nightclub killed car jockey Tiong Kwang Yie, 36, and injured 12 others, including a Singaporean.
Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar said the men were picked up yesterday night (Oct 15).
He declined to release further information.
Malaysian paper The Star said it is unclear if those detained at the city police headquarters are part of an underworld gang.
The Oct 9 blast has been linked to a turf war between rival gangs.
