An Indonesian maid lodged police report on her missing baby. The body of the baby was found wrapped in a plastic bag and found in a ravine near Genting Highlands in Malaysia.
Police investigations then traced back to the maid's employer, who was found to linked to a syndicate holding foreign maids and sexually abusing them.
The 33-year-old maid claimed to be the mother of the 6-month-old child, and lodged a police report on May 31 that her baby had died and could not be found. Selangor police chief Senior Deputy Commissioner Datus Abdul Samah Mat said the maid also alleged that she was raped by one of her employers.
Because the maid did not have a valid work permit, the maid agent then allegedly took the baby away.
The police chief told Malaysian media that the detained agent confessed to dumping the dead baby's body, which was recovered near Genting Highlands. The decomposed remains have been sent for a post-mortem.
Following his arrest, the maid agent who is in his 40s, was found to have been holding at least 29 foreign maids illegally, without pay and sexually abusing them.
