Deaths, injuries from motorcycle accidents went up in 2014

The number of motorcyclists and pillion riders injured in road accidents last year went up by 248 to 4,631.
The number of fatalities involving motorcyclists and pillion riders went up by 1 last year, to 74.
Revealing its annual figures on Thursday, the Traffic Police (TP) attributed this increase to a rise in the number of motorbikes on the road.
It also said the number of fatalities involving elderly pedestrians went up to 25 last year from 17 in 2013.
TP attributed this increase to Singapore's growing aging population.
