A woman had gone to Northpoint City in Yishun for lunch at noon on Feb 2.

Ms Liang, who was at Tun Xiang Hokkien Delights with her husband and son, ordered a set meal that included sesame oil chicken, pomfret and stuffed tofu.

She found the first piece of sesame chicken she picked up to be tough and spat it out.

The 41-year-old picked up a second piece of chicken but found it to be just as tough and spat it out.

"I looked at the chicken carefully and saw that it was all red in the middle. It was severely undercooked," she told Shin Min Daily News.

Her husband alerted a server and the plate of sesame chicken was replaced. The restaurant also waived the cost of her meal.

Ms Liang woke up early the next morning with an intense stomachache and had diarrhoea.

Both her husband and son were fine.

After she recovered, Ms Liang returned to Tun Xiang Hokkien Delights on Feb 8 with the bill from her visit to a clinic, hoping for recourse.

Restaurant manager Chen explained to the Chinese daily that the dish was immediately replaced and Ms Liang's bill waived.

"It was a busy day, so maybe the kitchen was careless for a while. We have done our best to deal with it at the moment," he said, adding that the restaurant was looking into the matter.
