Singaporeans have been getting more bang for their buck across the Causeway as the ringgit has been falling against the Singapore dollar.

In the last six months, the ringgit has dropped by 3.63% against the Singapore dollar.

The exchange rate is now RM2.6493 for every S$1.

The ringgit has also fallen to its lowest against the US dollar since August 2009.

The downward pressure is likely to continue as concerns about the impact of falling crude oil prices on Malaysia's economy remain, said economist Lee Heng Guie.

Malaysia, which is a net exporter of crude oil and petroleum, is seen as the biggest loser in Asean of lower oil prices.

Malaysian shuttler Lee Zii Jia, 22, has climbed to world No. 10 this year.
