Drunk men allegedly attack KTV owner in Orchard, pulling and slamming her onto the ground
A man was arrested after allegedly attacking a KTV owner and her husband at Cuppage Plaza in Orchard around 3am on March 25.
Ms Huang Zixin, 28, told Lianhe Zaobao that she and her husband were leaving work when the lift door opened and two men and two women walked out.
She claimed the two men were drunk, and one of them, dressed in white, held her husband while muttering something unintelligible.
When her husband tried to tell the man to back off, he taunted him, saying: "I just don't want to go away. What are you going to do?"
An argument erupted after the man pushed Ms Huang's husband, who retaliated.
"I tried to stop them, but the other man, dressed in black, suddenly turned around, pulled my hair, and started beating me," Ms Huang said.
She alleged the man in black dragged her to the stairs while the other man continued to beat her husband.
"A female friend of mine was passing by and tried to help, but she was also beaten up," she added.
It was reported the man in black pulled Ms Huang's hair and slammed her against the floor and the staircase entrance door more than 20 times.
When KTV employees noticed the commotion and ran to help, the man in white reportedly ran over to pull their hair and step on their feet.
The altercation lasted about 10 minutes, ending only after an employee shouted that the police were arriving.
"I called the police. While we were waiting, the two men came over and provoked us, asking us to beat them up," Ms Huang claimed.
Three people were sent to the hospital conscious: a 33-year-old man, a 28-year-old woman, and a 41-year-old man.
The 41-year-old was arrested for public nuisance and is being investigated for voluntarily causing hurt.
Police investigations are ongoing.
