Drunken brawl outside coffee shop leaves one with head injury

A fight broke out among several intoxicated men outside a coffee shop on South Bridge Road, leaving one of them with a head injury after being struck with a beer bottle.

Blood was splattered at the scene, and one person was arrested.

After the incident at about 6am on Feb 28, at least four police cars and an ambulance were spotted at the scene.

The coffee shop was cordoned off by the police, with multiple officers conducting investigations.

There was a blue, plastic chair toppled on the ground.

A male staff member at the coffee shop told Shin Min Daily News that when he arrived at work at 7am, the entire shop was already sealed off by the police.

A man with a head injury was receiving medical attention.

"It looked like a drunken fight had broken out. The police blocked off the walkway outside the coffee shop until around 8am before reopening it," he said.

Another staff member noted that while the shop itself was undamaged, several chairs were scattered around.

"This street often sees drunken disturbances - it's not the first time the police have had to step in," the staff member added.

Bloodstains were visible near a dustbin and on the surrounding pavement.

The dispute apparently erupted among a group of intoxicated individuals, during which one man struck another on the head with a glass, causing a deep wound.

The police confirmed they received a report of the incident.

A spokesperson stated that a 35-year-old man, who was conscious, was taken to the hospital.

A 31-year-old man was arrested and investigations are ongoing.
