Early morning fight breaks out in Bugis with furniture thrown
A group of about 10 men and women were seen arguing and throwing punches.
An altercation in the early hours of July 26 erupted into a physical fight along Liang Seah Street in Bugis.
The incident occurred at 3am, near a popular dessert shop that had closed for the night.
Ms Zheng, 33, told Shin Min Daily News that she was waiting for a private-hire car when she witnessed the commotion.
"They were shouting at each other, and then it escalated into a full-blown fight," she recounted.
Video footage provided by Ms Zheng shows more than 10 individuals involved in a heated argument on the otherwise quiet street.
Some are shoving each other, while others stand by and watch. One woman is sitting on the ground, with overturned tables and chairs scattered nearby. The sounds of furniture being thrown can also be heard in the background.
Ms Zheng added that she saw a few individuals moving in her direction, prompting her to quickly leave the area.
When reporters from Shin Min visited the scene that evening, a staff member at the dessert shop confirmed that one of their tables outside had been overturned.
However, they added that they were unaware of what had happened.
A male employee at a nearby establishment noted that several nightclubs and bars operate in the vicinity and that fights among intoxicated patrons are not uncommon on weekends.
