Faster log-in to Wireless@SG from Tuesday

Logging in to the free national Wi-Fi network, Wireless@SG, will take seconds instead of minutes, with an upgrade to the network ready from Tuesday.
This is due to a new method that allows users to log onto Wireless@SG in a much simpler way by detecting identification information on their mobile device's SIM card.
Users trying to connect would not need to create and key in a username and password to log-in, like they do now, said Dr Yaacob Ibrahim, Minister for Communications and Information.
The number of Wireless@SG hotspots will also be doubled to 10,000 by next year and further to 20,000 by 2016.
