A blaze broke out at a warehouse on Gul Drive during the early hours of April 16.

In a Facebook update, the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said it was alerted to the incident at around 6.15am. The fire involved waste materials stored in a warehouse measuring about 40m by 20m.

Firefighters used two water jets and an unmanned firefighting machine to bring the flames under control, extinguishing the fire in about an hour.

Damping down operations - where water is applied to burnt surfaces to prevent reignition - are still ongoing.

No injuries reported

The cause of the fire is still under investigation, and there were no reported injuries.

According to ST, this isn't the first time a fire has broken out at the location.

In June 2022, the same warehouse caught fire, and about 50 SCDF personnel were deployed to put out the blaze using water and foam jets. No injuries were reported in that incident either.
