What do you need for a successful marriage proposal?

The help of two fire stations and one police division, a friend's house, tons of dry ice and lots of luck.

Houston firefighter Jesse Gonzalez created a fake fire emergency at a friend's house late last month by using dry ice to create steam.

When his policewoman girlfriend arrived at the scene to redirect traffic, she was surprised with a marriage proposal along to the tune of Bruno Mars' Marry You.

(The video has a long introduction. Skip to 4:50 to see the proposal.)

Lucky thing No. 1

Had there been a real fire or emergency, the firefighters and police would have had to head off.

That would have meant no proposal.

Lucky thing No. 2

His girlfriend Olga Peck said yes.

Congratulations, Mr Gonzalez!

According to Mail Online, the couple have been dating for about a year. They hope to marry within the next year.
