Five more peak-hour bus services - at Clementi, Ang Mo Kio, Woodlands and Yishun

Five new peak-hour feeder bus services will begin running in four towns soon.

The first to be introduced will be Service 285P, in Clementi on Dec 30.

The others will come next month - service 265P in Ang Mo Kio on Jan 6, service 903P in Woodlands on Jan 13 and services 811P and 812P in Yishun on Jan 20.

They will add to existing feeder services 285, 265, 903, 811 and 812 and help connect residents to nearby bus interchanges or MRT stations.

Five trips per hour

The new services will operate at least five trips per hour during morning and evening peak periods, excluding public holidays.

More trips may be added if demand rises, the Land Transport Authority (LTA) said yesterday (Dec 16).

Bus-Plus Services will operate all the new services except 903P, which will be operated by Rui Feng Chartered.

The five services will charge distance fares, similar to the feeder services that they add to.

It is part of an ongoing programme and, is, said LTA, in line with the Ministry of Transport's announcement at the Committee of Supply 2013 "to tap on the resources of private bus operators to operate short bus routes to augment the resources of the public transport operators".

This is to provide commuters with "additional options to get to major transport nodes'', it said.

More details, including operating hours and route maps, are available on the LTA website.
