Police arrested four loan shark runners on Monday with the help of closed-circuit television camera footage.

A woman made a police report on Oct 23 at around 1.10am saying the main door of her house had been locked with a bicycle chain lock and splashed with paint.

Police were able to identify the suspects after conducting investigations and reviewing CCTV footage.

Four men, aged between 16 and 36, were arrested near the Jurong East area during an operation on Monday.

Five mobile phones were seized from them.

They will be charged in court on Wednesday (Oct 29).

If found guilty under the Moneylenders Act, first-time offenders will be jailed for up to five years, fined between $5,000 and $50,000 and given between three and six strokes of the cane.
