Four women arrested for housebreaking, theft in Dempsey, Tanjong Pagar
Police arrested four women on Thursday for housebreaking and theft.
The quartet, aged between 22 and 31, broke into restaurants and offices near Dempsey Road and Tras Street in Tanjong Pagar, stated a police press release on Friday.
In some cases, the culprits were caught on closed-circuit television cameras (CCTVs) on the premises.
Officers conducted ground enquires and arrested two suspects at Queensway on Thursday.
The other two suspects were arrested later that day.
All four will be charged in court on Saturday with Housebreaking and Theft by Night with Common Intention.
If found guilty, each can be jailed for up to 14 years.
Police advice:
Secure office premises with good quality doors and locks.
Install a burglar alarm and sensor light and/or closed circuit surveillance camera to cover the access points.
Valuables and large sums of cash should be deposited in banks.
