Four women were caught in a brawl in a shopping mall at Orchard Road, the altercation escalating from a chaotic fight to a one-on-one confrontation.

There was hair-pulling, punches and kicks, and they were all captured on video, which was circulated online.

The incident occurred around 8pm on Feb 2, near the lift landing on the sixth storey of Lucky Plaza. The women involved were reportedly middle-aged.

A video of the fight was uploaded to Facebook, showing the women pulling one another's hair while a few men attempted to intervene.

The video also showed two women sitting on the floor, struggling to free themselves from each other's grip.

One woman, wearing a shoulder-baring top, was pulling the hair of another woman with her right hand while also grabbing the hair of a third woman.

The four women were tightly entangled, continuing to pull hair while throwing punches and kicks.

Three men, who appeared to be companions of the women, tried to separate them but were unsuccessful.

The conflict broke into two separate fights, continuing for over a minute before being broken up by passersby.

A staff member from a nearby health supplement store told Shin Min Daily News that the incident happened at around 8.45pm.

"At first, we didn't notice anything but then someone hit our glass pane and we saw the women fighting."

The staff member mentioned that some people were already trying to stop the fight, but he could not leave his store to help.

He added that the women struggled for several minutes before leaving and continuing their argument downstairs, though the specifics of what happened next were unclear.

Business owners in the area pointed out that the floor where the incident took place houses several nightclubs, so such disturbances are not uncommon.

Saleswoman Xie noted that the mall is often crowded on weekends , the crowd often made comprising maids and migrant workers.

"There are frequent altercations after drinking," said the 28-year-old, adding that while the fights are common, they rarely escalate to anything more than shoving matches.
