Gasp! Is the iPhone 6 Plus bending in people's pockets?
Warning: New iPhone 6 Plus owners, look away now.
Reports are emerging that some users have discovered - to their horror - that their brand new 5.5-inch handsets are getting slightly bent.
And they didn't do anything except put the gadget in their pockets.
How can this be?
Shocking?
Yes, since Apple is known to produce products that have fantastic build quality. So the authenticity of the photos have been questioned.
To check the validity of such claims, the good people from Unbox Therapy decided to put their OWN spanking new iPhone to a bend test.
The results?
Let's just say Apple does not come out smelling of roses.
The phone bends, and stays bent, after some force was applied with bare hands.
In contrast, a Samsung Galaxy Note 3 was able to withstand the same test.
Technology sites such as Engadget were quick to point out that the new iPhones uses soft malleable aluminum in its chassis.
In fact, they also noted that a similar issue cropped up with the iPhone 5.
So those thinking of upgrading to the iPhone 6 Plus might want to consider this point.
If you've, unfortunately, suffered the #bendgate experience, send us your pictures!
We will send you our condolences.
