Grandmother thwarts robbery attempt with her line dancing skills
Forget martial arts. Line dancing may very well be what you need to defend yourself (and your business).
A Chinese grandmother's nightly square dancing indirectly helped her stop a knife-wielding robber, according to a report in English-language Chinese daily Global Times.
The robber, known as Zhou, had walked into a jewellery store on Thursday evening and took out a knife.
The shop-owner's grandmother had been chatting outside of the shop when she noticed a nervous man whose hands kept trembling.
She ran inside to see the robbery in progress.
The grandmother then grabbed the robber's arm from behind.
Another salesman then shocked the robber with a taser before police arrested him.
Even the robber was shocked at her strength.
He reportedly told the police: "Does she practice kung fu or something? How is she so strong?"
The store owner believed that his mother's nightly square dancing kept her fit.
He said: "I pity the person that has a run-in with my mother."
