'Imagine I take photo of your daughter': Police called over phone dispute in Little India coffee shop

A man was allegedly caught "red-handed" taking a photo of another woman.

A man apparently took away another's phone in a dispute that resulted in an altercation at a coffee shop in Little India on Aug 13.

A video of the incident at Al Mubin Restaurant in Syed Alwi Road was posted online by Tiagongsg.

The video description alleged that a man in a striped shirt took a picture of a woman in a tudong from the back. A younger man who was with the woman caught him "red-handed", but the older man said he took the photo "accidentally".

In the video, the younger man appeared to have taken the phone of the older man, who was trying to get it back.

Agitated, the younger man can be heard threatening to call the police and telling the other man not to touch him.

The older man said sorry, but the younger man refused to accept the apology.

He asked the older man: "You married already or not? You got daughter? Imagine I take photo of your daughter."

The older man kept trying to take his phone back from the younger man who was fending him off. As the scuffling became more violent, the coffee shop workers stepped in to restrain the older man and the fracas eventually moved outside the coffee shop.

Later in the video, the old man can be seen sitting down and trying to explain himself while the younger man tried to unlock the older man's phone by holding it in front of the older man's face.

Stomp understands the police subsequently arrived at the coffee shop and found no intentionally taken photos of the woman on the older man's phone.

The police are not investigating.
